From FirstSteps, to up and running

FirstSteps was launched in 1993 when the owners, who had children in nursery care at the time, saw how a dedicated software program could improve the quality of nursery care.

They realised that a large part of the nursery staff’s time was taken up with day-to-day administration tasks, and that they could do their job much more efficiently, and spend more time with the children, if they had a system that could take care of the management. This system could be tailor made to suit every eventuality that a nursery school encounters, with the benefits of in-built safety and cost-saving features, as well as facilities to offer increased efficiency.

That system was created. And today, now in its tenth version, FirstSteps is used by over 1000 nurseries and childcare centres through the UK, from Aberdeen to Poole, and across to Ireland. In fact, FirstSteps has more users than any other nursery software system.

FirstSteps is a preferred supplier for NDNA and is also selected by the local authorities to use in community nurseries.
